We are looking for an experienced Senior BAS Accountant to join our team.  We are a well-established, medium sized Accounting firm in Orewa.  With the area’s continually growing population, our practice requires a Senior Accountant to help manage our growing number of larger clients, consisting of compliance, advisory and consulting work. 

Duties Include

• Preparation of financial statements, tax planning & other compliance duties
• Managing work flow and ensuring that the jobs are completed within the set budget
• Reviewing clients business structures and advising accordingly
• Face to face meetings with clients
• Tax forecasting and budgeting
• Assist with ad-hoc work as required.

The ideal candidate

• Public practice experience and experience with NZ financial records as relevant to the SME environment
• At least two years NZ Accounting experience at a high intermediate to senior level
• Strong knowledge of NZ IRD tax requirements
• Preferably CA/CPA qualified but I will be happy to speak to those who are qualified by experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal colleagues
• Able to prioritise and manage workload effectively and to specified deadlines
• Remain focused on the end task and desired results
• Strong knowledge of and experience using Xero and preferably familiar with XPM practice management software
• Effective at identifying problems and providing appropriate solutions
• Experience working with financial data in order to improve efficiency for our clients
• Show commitment to embracing new technology and our push towards a paperless office.
